Urgent Care Barbados Inc. invites tenders for comprehensive waste collection, transport, treatment and disposal services for The W Hospital and associated Urgent Care facilities. Bidders may quote for individual services, as the team may procure some or all of the options.
Waste categories
- General / domestic – non-hazardous administrative, kitchen and housekeeping waste.
- Clinical / biomedical – soiled dressings, blood-contaminated items, anatomical and laboratory waste.
- Sharps – needles, scalpels and ampoules in puncture-resistant containers.
- Pharmaceutical – expired, unused or contaminated medications, including cytotoxic agents.
- Chemical / hazardous, radioactive (if applicable) and recyclables.
Required services
- Scheduled and on-call collection from designated internal and external holding points.
- Secure, leak-proof transport in dedicated, marked vehicles compliant with Barbadian regulations.
- Treatment or disposal at a licensed facility, with a manifest or certificate of destruction for every consignment.
- Monthly weighing and documentation of waste volumes by category.
- Emergency collection response within 12 hours of request.
